Chithranganee Wijeweera, wife of JVP's founding leader Rohana Wijeweera, filed a case at Commercial High Court today, demanding the prevention of the printing and publication of seven of her late husband's books.
Through the case, she states that she is the rightful owner of the copyrights for the books written by her late husband. The case is filed under the Intellectual Porperty Act No 36 of 2003.
The books include "Rathu Okthombaraye Padam" (Lessons of Red October), "Rata Hadana Ape Prathipaththi" (Our Policies to Build the Nation), "Demala Eelam Aragalayata Visanduma Kumakda?" and its English version and "Apa Mara Damuvada Apa Nagana Handa Nomiyenu Atha" (Though we are Killed, our voice will not be Silenced!).
The JVP was issued summons to appear in court on November 27 by Commercial High Court Judge Shiran Gunaratne.
