Serial numbers of 43 weapons found in the Avant Garde floating armoury have been changed, Co-Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Rajitha Senaratne said.

Speaking at the cabinet press briefing earlier today, Senaratne said that the Navy Commander informed yesterday’s special meeting on the Avant Garde controversy of this fact.

Furthermore, the Navy Commander urged for an extensive investigation on the incident, Senaratne also disclosed.

The special meeting on the controversy was convened yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat. The President decided that the government should cancel all agreements with the Avant Garde company. The operations were handed over to the Navy.
