People are losing faith in the government due to the lack of progress in the investigations in to alleged corruption and fraud, Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera acknowledged.
Speaking to BBC, Perera said that Avant Garde incident was only one such case where the slow progress is hurting the government.
The inquiry in to the assets of a certain MP from Kalutara District is one such example, he pointed out. Another example is the investigation in to a racing car which used the number plate of the official Benz of the former President, Perera added. Apparently, no charges were filed against anyone regarding the car and it has reportedly been returned, the Deputy Minister said.
He added that justice should be done, and visible too.
