Janatha Sevaka Party Secretary Somawansa Amarasinghe said that there is a Cold War within the government, pulling it in different directions.

Addressing a press conference in Colombo, Amarasinghe pointed out that the government is divided in numerous ways. There is a President’s team and a Prime Minister’s team in government.

Furthermore, there is a clear division within the UPFA and another division in the UNP, he claimed.

Amarasinghe pointed out that the government is far from a consensus government as claimed. It is full of internal power struggles and different groups are pulling in different directions. This makes the functioning of the government difficult, he argued.
