Former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Vavuniya U.K. Dissanayake was further remanded till the 20th of this month by the Vavuniya Magistrate V. Ramakamalan.

He is in remand custody on charges of aiding and abetting a treasure hunt in Vavuniya.

The Magistrate directed that the bail application will be considered on the 20th and fixed the further hearing for that date.

The DIG was arrested on September 20 after he surrendered to police.
