UPFA MP Vidura Wickramanayaka said that the government should resign and let the SLFP-led UPFA to govern if it cannot carry out their promises.
Speaking at a press conference in Horana today, Wickramanayaka said that the government continues to blame the former government of Mahinda Rajapaksa, in an attempt to hide its own incompetence.
He asked if the government gave the promises it gave during elections, without knowing that they will not be able to carry them out. Giving such excuses will not fool anyone, Wickramanayaka argued.
He also pointed out that if the UNP government cannot govern, it should resign and let the SLFP-led UPFA to govern the country. The UPFA is ready to accept the challenge, he also claimed.
