A 57-year-old woman was today detained here under the Passport Act when she was planning to leave for Sri Lanka from Dhanushkodi, police said.

Police said the woman, Maria Margret told them that she came to India in 2007 and she wanted to go back to Sri Lanka.

She was staying at Ambattur in Chennai, police said.
