National Police Commission said that a three member committee will be appointed to investigate the alleged police attack on the protesting HNDA students on October 29.

Police clashed with students on October 29 at Ward Place in a successful attempt to disperse a protest by the HNDA students backed by the Inter University Students' Federation. However, some of the action taken by police generated severe criticism.

Police claimed that the media published photographs of alleged attacks to give a wrong impression about the police and tarnish its image.
