The National Police Commission reportedly decided to hold an inquiry into the police attack on HNDA students on October 29.
This came a day after it was reported that the Human Rights Commission will also be carrying out an investigation.
Police clashed with students on October 29 at Ward Place in a successful attempt to disperse a protest by the HNDA students backed by the Inter University Students' Federation. However, some of the action taken by police generated severe criticism.
Police claimed that the media published photographs of alleged attacks to give a wrong impression about the police and tarnish its image.
