Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today signed six Bills, thereby enacting them with effect from today.

The six Bills include Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill, Nation Building Tax (Amendment) Bill, Gaming and Betting and Gaming Levy (Amendment) Bill, Economic Service Charge (Amendment) Bill, Value Added Tax Amendment Bill and ta financial Bill.

This financial Bill is thought to be the Mansions Tax Amendment Bill.

These are the first Bills signed into Acts by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

A Bill becomes effective once the Speaker signs it, confirming his approval.
