Former SriLankan Airlines Chairman Nishantha Wickramasinghe informed the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges that he was unable to give a statement on Friday since he was abroad.
Wickramasinghe, a brother of former First Lady Shirnthi Rajapaksa, informed through his lawyers that he will be abroad till November 20.
The PRECIFAC said yesterday that it was unable to hand over the summons to Wickramasinghe since he was not at his residence in Mount Lavinia. His wife had refused to accept the notice, saying that Wickramasinghe has not come to his residence for a long time.
Wickramasinghe was expected to report to PRECIFAC tomorrow in connection with a complaint regarding irregularities at the SriLankan Airlines Catering Service.
