Several individuals arrested over the murder of a night club owner in Anuradhapura have given statements to the police, revealing important details of the crime.

The army deserter known as “Loka”, who is thought to be the mastermind of the attack, has treated the group with alcohol on the fateful night. According to the statements given by some of the arrested individuals, “Lokka” explained to them that they were being treated since it was his birthday.

Following the party, “Lokka” has instructed the group to attack Wasantha Soyza, the owner of the night club.

The statements reveal that Soyza and “Lokka” had a serious personal dispute.

Meanwhile, it was also revealed that 24 people had taken part in the attack.

Fourteen individuals have been arrested over the incident and police operations to arrest "Lokka" and several others are still underway.
