Six more suspects were arrested yesterday over the recent murder of a night club owner in Anuradhapura, bringing the total number of arrested to 14.
Eight more had been arrested earlier in connection with the crime. Six of them were remanded till November 9 and police obtained a court order to detain and question the other two.
Around 20 people stormed into the nightclub owned by Wasantha Soyza, a Guinness World Record holding karate champion, and murdered him. The others were injured and admitted to Anuradhapura Hospital. The incident occurred on Saturday (24) night.
Police have recovered some weapons used in the assault and have also found several vehicles used by the group.
