An owner of a nightclub in Anuradhapura, Wasantha Soyza, was stabbed to death by an unidentified group last night, police said.

The group had stormed into the nightclub and attacked Soyza and several others in the club around 11.45pm.

Three other individuals who were also injured during the attack are receiving treatment at the Anuradhapura teaching hospital.

The 57-year-old Wasantha Soyza was also a Karate champion, holding a Guinness Word record of breaking 12 slabs of concrete in one go.
