The Basnayake Nilame of Kandy Sri Maha Vishnu Devalaya and Aluthnuwara Dedi Munda Devalaya, Mohan Panabokke passed away Tuesday afternoon at the age of 60 years at the Kandy General Hospital.

He held the post of the Basnayake Nilame of the Kandy Historical Vishnu Devalaya continuously for seventeen years.

Panabokke was an old pupil of Trinity College, Kandy.

Panabokke's funeral will be held this evening at Mahaiyawa General Cemetery.
