UPFA Western Provincial Council Member Upali Kodikara was remanded toll October 23 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya, for obstructing police duty.
Kodikara was arrested by Cinnamon Gardens Police earlier in the day.
Kodikara had struggled with a policeman on duty at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges at BMICH on October 16 when he was stopped from entering the commission premises.
He had arrived with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the commission premises on that day. Rajapaksa arrived to give a statement on the non-payment of money to the ITN for election advertisemants.
