The person who allegedly robbed an amount exceeding Rs 800,000 from a private bank in Dambulla has been identified using CCTV footage, police said.

Accordingly, four special police teams have been appointed to conduct further investigations on the incident. Moreover, the police have recorded statements from several individuals including the security staff of the bank.

The suspected individual robbed the bank on October 13 by threatening the staff with a hand grenade. He fled in three-wheeler along with an abducted staff member of the bank. The staff member was released on the way.
