Five military officers including four former commanders of armed forces were questioned recently by the FCID over complaints of diplomatic officials being involved in political activities, police said.

Accordingly, statements were recorded from former Army Commander and Former Ambassador to Thailand Shantha Kottegoda and former Air Force Commander and former High Commissioner to Pakistan Jayalath Weerakkodi on October 12.

Meanwhile, statements were recorded from former Navy Commander and former Ambassador to Japan Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda and former Navy Commander and former High Commissioner to Australia Thisara Samarasinghe on October 13.

Furthermore, retired Major Jagath Kumara Wijesiri, who served in the Embassy in Japan, was summoned to record a statement today.
