The Imaduwa-Kokmaduwa stretch on the Southern Expressway was re-opened last evening, after a rearrangement of the lanes.

The lane from Matara to Colombo remains closed from 113.6km to 114.5km, and the Colombo - Matara lane was divided to facilitate bi-way traffic. The central divider between the two lanes has been removed in this stretch.

The lane from Matara to Colombo will open only after the landslide risk in the nearby hill is completely removed, authorities said.

Motorists are advised to drive with extra caution in this stretch of the expressway.
