The IGP and several other police officials were issued notice today by the Court of Appeals to appear at court on October 16.
This order was given when the Habeas Corpus application filed by four wives of detained army soldiers was heard today.
The soldiers have been detained by the CID over the alleged disappearance of Prageeth Eknaligoda.
The wives of the soldiers have requested that their husbands be presented to the courts.
The Court of Appeals had issued notice on several police officials and the Attorney General to appear at the courts today. Only the representative of the AG was present in court.
Therefore, the Appeals Court re-issued notice on the IGP, OIC of Gang Robbery Unit of CID, ASP of CID and Director CID to appear before the courts on October 16.
