Four army soldiers were sentenced to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment over a case of rape and abuse in Vishwamadu, Kilinochchi, in 2010.

Soldiers were sentenced for 20 years each and Rs. 500,000 (or 5 more years) for rape of a young mother and 5 years and Rs. 100,000 each for abusing another woman living in the same house.
