Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has urged the Sri Lankan community in Japan not to send vehicles from Japan to Sri Lanka until the budget is tabled at the Parliament in November.
He made this remark yesterday when he met the Sri Lankan community during his official visit to Japan. Karunanayake is part of the delegation led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Karunanayake has also revealed that nearly 800,000 Japanese vehicles have been imported to Sri Lanka in the last eight months.
The budget will be presented to Parliament on November 20.
