Neymar has been provisionally suspended for one match after he was shown a red card following Brazil's 1-0 defeat by Colombia in the Copa America.
The Barcelona forward will miss Brazil's final group match against Venezuela on Sunday.
The South American Football Confederation will review the case on Friday and that could lead to the 23-year-old receiving a longer suspension.
And that could rule him out of the quarter-finals if Brazil qualify.
Neymar was shown the red after kicking a ball at Colombia's Pablo Armero in frustration after the final whistle before appearing to head butt another player who confronted him.
Colombia's Carlos Bacca was also sent off for a retaliatory shove.
Neymar had already been shown a yellow card earlier the game that would have kept him from playing against Venezuela.
