New Zealand's Martin Guptill became the second player to score a double hundred in the 2015 Cricket World Cup a short while ago during the Super Eight game against West Indies played at Wellington.
Opening the innings, Guptill was watchful in the early part of the innings but accelerated after scoring his half century. New Zealand was in a bit of trouble earlier in the innings with the score on 89 for 3. Guptill made a partnership of 143 runs with Ross Taylor for the third wicket, taking the score to a comfortable 232 for 3. Taylor made 42.
Guptill reached the double century in the 48th over, scoring a boundary off a full delivery from Andre Russel. His 200 came in 152 deliveries with 21 fours and eight sixes.
New Zealand were 343 for 5 in 47.1 overs when Guptill scored the boundary taking him to 203 not out.
