Sri Lanka national cricket team arrived in the country early morning today (20), after being eliminated at the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
Sri Lanka was eliminated after losing the quarter final of the World Cup to South Africa in Sydney.
They arrived in Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport at 12.40a.m. in Flight SQ 468 from Singapore.
However, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena and Lasith Malinga were not among the players that arrived. They are to arrive on March 26 and 27.
Both Jayawardene and Sangakkara had announced that the ICC World Cup 2015 would be their final ODI assignment.
However, much to the dismay of Sri Lankan fans, the tournament ended on a disappointing note for the ‘twin towers’ with Sri Lanka losing by nine wickets to South Africa.
