Producing clinical performance, Sri Lanka Navy Baseball team emerged champions at the National Baseball League - LITRO Cup, beating Ranabima Royal Club, Kandy by 17- 06 points in the final yesterday (July, 02).

Trophies for both ‘Best Pitcher’ and ‘Player of the Match’ were won by Able Seaman PHT Madhumal. Meanwhile, Stores Assistant KAS Madushanka was awarded for the ‘Most Valuable Player’.

The final encounter held at the Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksha Ground was graced by senior representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Mr. Akio Nakamoto, as the Chief Guest. President of the Sri Lanka Baseball Association, Mr. Mohomed Fazil, Deputy Area Commander of Southern Naval Area, Commodore PD Sanjeewa Dais, sailors from the Southern Naval Command and a large number of spectators were also present to witness the final.
