Dinesh Chandimal, who was dropped from Sri Lanka Test Squad recently, scored an almost run a ball century against Yorkshire, playing for Sri Lanka A at Headingly, Leeds. Sri Lanka A won the one day encounter between the two teams by 26 runs.
Batting first, Sri Lanka A scored 275 runs in their allocated 50 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Chandimal made 100 with 8 boundaries and a six. Opener Danushka Gunathilaka scored 65 runs. Adil Rashid was the pick of the bowlers for Yorkshire. He took four for 57 and James Wainman took three for 51.
Yorkshire started their reply in a threatening manner with Adam Lyth and Alex Lees putting on 70 runs in 8.5 overs. But after Lyth was dismissed the run rate dropped. Chaturanga de Silva sent three key batsmen back to the pavilion ending up with figures of three for 33. Seekkuge Prasanna took four for 42. Alex Lees top scored for the Yorks with 54. Yorkshire was bowled out for 249 in 47.2 overs, giving Sri Lanka A a convincing victory.
