Positive start from Bangladesh: Having finished Day 2 on a helter skelter mode, Shakib and Mushfiqur looked relaxed as play started on the third day. Herath kept faith in his two successful bowlers, Lakshan Sandakan and Suranga Lakmal - as he continued his hunt for wickets.
BUILD UP: Both teams ended Day 2 on an even keel. Chandimal brilliant ton and a defiant ninth-wicket stand with Suranga Lakmal helped Sri Lanka edge ahead by accumulating 100 runs in the morning session before getting bowled out. Bangladesh were solid in reply, courtesy a 95-run opening stand between Tamim and Sarkar. Then the two fell in quick succession. Sabbir Rahman did some quick scoring to rebuild but the final four overs changed the face of the game once again. Lakshan Sandakan picked two in as many deliveries, including the nightwatchman. Lakmal then sent back Sabbir - or should I say Sabbir then threw away another good start? Shakib did some blind hitting too, surviving twice in closing minutes of play. Bangladesh, effectively, are 124 behind Sri Lanka's first innings total of 338. Shakib and Rahim to resume the innings. Stay tuned.
