A ceremony to felicitate Dinesh Priyantha Herath who won the bronze medal of the Javelin throw event at the Rio Paralympic games was held last night at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo. His coach Rohitha Fernando was also present on the occasion. 

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe. The Premier handed over a sum of 2.5 million rupees to Dinesh Priyantha. 

The coach was also handed over a cash prize. Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara, sports personnel who represented Sri Lanka at the Paralympic games and their family members attended the event as well.
