The England & Wales Cricket Board has confirmed that a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series will take place between England Women and Sri Lanka Women, in the final round of ICC Women’s Championship in November. The three ODIs will take place on November 12, 15 and 17, at the R Premadas Stadium in Colombo. The series will also conclude what has been a hectic year of international cricket for England Women. England lie on third position with 19 points, in the Championship standings, which is the qualification tournament for the World Cup 2017. Sri Lanka are reeling at the eighth spot, having won just twice in their first five rounds. READ: Heather Knight looks back on winning start as England Women captain
England’s real test though will be when they travel to Jamaica next month where they will face Stafanie Taylor’s West Indies side. West Indies are one point ahead of England in the points table. Therefore the result from that series will have a significant effect on the final qualification standings.
