Following his meeting with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, President Maithripala Sirisena is holding a meeting with the UPFA MPs in parliament to discuss the differences on the 19th Amendment.

After his meeting with the UPFA MPs, Sirisena will hold a meeting once again with the Prime Minister to reach a consensus.

The President met with Prime Minister Wickremesinghe at noon, to discuss the differences between the government and the SLFP over the 19th Amendment. SLFP and UNP are at loggerheads over the composition of the Constitutional Council proposed by the 19th Amendment.
