Parliament Approves Further Three Months Leave For Basil Rajapaksa

Parliament approved another three months leave for UPFA MP Basil Rajapaksa commencing from April 28.

Rajapaksa was earlier granted leave for three months on February 18. He left the country for USA in the early hours of January 11 and has not attended parliamentary sessions afterwards.

The former Economic Development Minister returned to the island on April 21 and was arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division over financial fraud in the Divi Naguma Department. He was remanded until May 5.
