The CID was today ordered to obtain an analysis from Government Examiner of documents regarding the alleged signatures that appear in a secret agreement between Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe and the opposition's common candidate Maithripala Sirisena by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.
The CID had begun an investigation into the matter following a complaint made by UNP Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe.
Wickremasinghe, in a statement to the CID, had denied the facts relating to a secret agreement and alleged that his signature had been forged in the agreement presented by Health Minister Tissa Attanayake to media.
Common Candidate Maithripala Sirisena too gave a statement to the CID over the matter and said he did not sign any separate agreement with the main opposition party.
The CID also recorded a statement from Health Minister Tissa Attanayake who revealed the alleged "secret agreement" to the media.
