Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gnanasara thera said that the BBS is prepared to provide 'unconditional support' to President Mahinda Rajapaksa's election campaign to ensure his third term.
Addressing a press conference in Colombo yesterday, the BBS General Secretary said that common candidate Maithripala Sirisena's election manifesto is flawed and he claimed that the people should be made aware about Sirisena's 'conspiracy'.
Gnanasara thera said that the common opposition has found themselves a candidate who is 'like a "bullock" who is prepared to do anything for the opposition.
Meanwhile, the BBS General Secretary lashed out at Athuraliya Rathana thera, saying that he should address the problems faced by the Buddhist community. He added that if Rathana thera addressed the true issues of the Buddhist community in Sri Lanka, there would not be any reason for Rathana thera to act like this.
However, it is in the grapevine that many Muslim representatives in the ruling party, including Deputy Minister Faizer Mustapha, will leave the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) and support the common opposition if the ruling party welcomes the support of Bodu Bala Sena.
