The postal voting for the 2015 Presidential Election begins today. It will also be conducted tomorrow.
A total of 541,432 voters have registered for postal voting. The highest number of postal voters will be from Kurunegala District. The voting is scheduled to start at 8.30am.
The police will conduct mobile patrols of polling stations like in a usual election. Meanwhile People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFEREL) has said that 1000 observers are assigned for the election.
Meanwhile, police officers and officials of District Secretariats who will be on election duty will get a separate opportunity to cast their postal votes on December 26.
