A door-to-door awareness program on the policy statement “Maithri Paalanayak, Sthaavara Ratak” (A Compassionate Governance, a Stable Country) program of common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena was launched earlier today.

The program started with an “adhishtaana puja” at Homagama Sugathabimbaramaya Temple a short while ago with the participation of the key leaders of the common opposition.

The policy statement was launched on Friday (19) at a special function near the Buddha statue of the Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo. It is a basic guideline for the short term policy of guaranteeing good governance and developing the economy, opposition leaders have said.
