Asian Mirror reliably learns that the Bodu Bala Sena has given a positive response to former JHU Deputy Leader Udaya Gammanpila's proposal to form a new Sinhala-Buddhist political party together.
The new political movement will be formed with the aim of countering the Jathika Hela Urumaya. According to political sources, the new party will be formed ahead of the forthcoming presidential election.
The new party will openly support the political campaign of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The former Deputy General Secretary of the JHU today managed to get the support of 19 of 34 PS members of the JHU. The JHU defectors of the grassroots level will also join the new political movement formed by Gammanpila and the BBS.
However, a JHU stalwart assured Asian Mirror that no national level politician of the party would join the new political movement initiated by Gammanpila.
The BBS has already stated that it would form a new political party to contest the next general election. The BBS stated that the political party would be formed under the leadership of a "national leader" who is a "hero".
It is now clear that Gammanpila will be the BBS's hero under whose leadership the organization will contest the next general election.
