President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated yesterday that the opposition presidential candidate Maithripala Sirisena has signed a secret deal with the Tamil National Alliance (TNA).

He made this comment speaking at an election rally in Chilaw. The President claimed that the secret deal was formulated by a team which includes TNA Parliamentarian M.A.Sumanthiran.

The President said that the opposition should reveal these agreements.

He urged the public not to forget what the LTTE did and the fact that they have been defeated militarily. He also added that pro-LTTE groups operating overseas have created their own mechanisms of state and now want to see him defeated at the Presidential elections.

Such groups want to take him to the Hague but it will not be possible as the people are with him, Rajapaksa added.
