Former Chairman of the Kotikawatte-Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha, Prasanna Solangaarachchi said the government should take the full responsibility if someone killed him during the election period.
Speaking to reporters at the Opposition Leaders Office in Colombo this evening, Solangaarachchi said there was a conspiracy to kill him and his life was under threat.
Solangaarachchi, who was known to be a staunch supporter of the late Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra, recently joined the common opposition and pledged his support to Maithripala Sirisena, the Common Candidate of the opposition.
He also added that a group of armed people had surrounded his house this evening.
"I have no security and I am unarmed. I wil continue to live in my house", Solangaarachchi said speaking to reporters in Colombo. The former PS Chairman obtained the highest number of preferential votes during the last local government election.
