Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that all items in the ‘Mahinda’s Shop’ have become stale therefore it should be closed immediately,

However the JVP Leader also added that the JVP cannot fully trust ‘Maithripala’s Shop’ either.

Speaking at a public rally in Nugegoda yesterday (2), the JVP Leader said that he appreciated Maithripala Sirisena and Rajitha Senaratne’s courage for stepping out of the Rajapksa government.

The rally was organized under the theme “abolish Executive Presidency, stand against dictatorship rule and lining up for democracy”.

“Even though the torch is being carried hand to hand now, we were the ones who started the fight against Executive Presidency”, Dissanayake said.

The JVP Leader compared the current ruling system of Sri Lanka to that of Libya’s former ruler General Gaddafi. He added that it is the people who rose against dictatorship and he urged the people adopt the same mindset to abolish Executive Presidency from the country.

“The ruling party and their henchmen have driven the country’s economy down the drains, millions of rupees are being syphoned off in the guise of development”, he added.
