UNP Puttalam District Parliamentarian Palitha Range Bandara has refuted rumors that he is planning to cross over to the government.
Speaking to a local newspaper, he has asked “have I said anywhere that I will cross over?”
Bandara was one of several UNP leaders that were said to be considering a crossover apparently angered by the party’s decision to support the common candidate Maithripala Sirisena.
However, multiple sources from the government and oppositionconfirmed that the UNP Parliamentarian might cross over to the government this week.
Meanwhile, even though it was said that several more government members of parliament will cross over to the opposition during the budget vote today, several SLFP leaders have publicly stated that they will not do so.
But, speaking to Asian Mirror, a spokesman of the Maithripala Sirisena group said that a number of crossobers will happen in the Parliament today.
Upto this moment seven parliamentarians from the government have crossed over to the opposition after ther presidential election was announced.
