A tragic wasp attack on a group of plantation workers in Melfort Canal, Pussellawa, resulted in one fatality and six injuries. Police says that the incident occurred on the evening of November 12, as the workers were carrying out their duties.
One of the injured workers, a 50-year-old man from Melfort Canal, later succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to Gampola Hospital. Another worker remains in serious condition and is undergoing treatment at the hospital, while the remaining four individuals have been discharged after receiving medical care.
