Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) officers at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake have confiscated a significant quantity of drugs, including ‘Ice’ (Crystal Methamphetamine), ‘Mandy’ (MDMA), and Kush cannabis, concealed in seven parcels sent via air cargo from several foreign countries.
Acting on information from an air freight company, PNB officers inspected the suspicious parcels on October 21. The operation uncovered a total of 7 kg and 21 g of ‘Ice,’ 1 kg and 338 g of ‘Mandy,’ and 1 kg and 143 g of ‘Kush.’
The PNB is continuing its investigation to identify and arrest those responsible for importing these drugs into the country.
