A 33-year-old man was arrested for running an illegal firearms manufacturing workshop in Wawegama, Sooriyawewa, during a raid by Special Task Force (STF) personnel from the Hambantota camp.

Police reported the seizure of a locally-made 'T-Katas' type firearm, parts of an unfinished firearm, and various weapon components during the operation.
The suspect has been taken into custody and handed over to the Sooriyawewa Police Station for further investigation.
