India and Canada Expel Diplomats Over Murder Accusations

Canada has expelled six Indian diplomats following allegations that Indian government agents were involved in a "campaign of violence" against dissidents in the country. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau revealed the expulsions on Monday, citing a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) investigation that uncovered “clear and compelling evidence” of threatening activities, including murder.

Trudeau highlighted that the evidence pointed to clandestine operations targeting South Asian Canadians and posed a significant threat to public safety. “We cannot ignore the findings of the RCMP,” he said.

In retaliation, India said the expulsion of six Canadian diplomats, including the acting high commissioner, giving them until Saturday to leave the country.
