Former Anuradhapura district MP and Deputy Minister W.B. Ekanayake has passed away at the age of 76.

Police reports indicate that Ekanayake was found dead in the bathroom of his home on October 10. Preliminary investigations suggest he may have died from a suspected cardiac arrest, as he had been living alone.
