The Election Commission has invitated observers from eight countries to monitor the upcoming general election.

Chairman R.M.A.L. Ratnayake confirmed that the observers will represent regional nations, as well as Russia. In addition, officials from the Commonwealth and the European Union are expected to oversee the election process.

Observers from the Asian Network for Free Elections will also be present to ensure transparency and integrity during the election activities.
