The Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake, said that applications for postal voting for the 2024 Parliamentary Elections will open tomorrow and remain available until October 8.

As stipulated by the Parliamentary Elections Act, applications must be submitted from the 7th to the 14th day following the election announcement. He urged all eligible voters to apply through their institutional heads within this timeframe.

The 2024 voter registry will be used for the elections. Although the same registry was utilized for the recent Presidential Election, voters must reapply for postal voting due to possible changes in employment or institutional leadership. It is essential for all postal voters to submit new applications to confirm their eligibility for the upcoming elections.
