The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is actively investigating into the leak of questions from the first paper of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, resulting in several arrests.
Among those detained is the Director of the National Institute of Education, who has been remanded until the 7th of this month.
The suspect, a 57-year-old from Thiththawella, Kurunegala, was part of the committee responsible for creating the exam papers.
The Department of Examinations has requested the CID's investigation report to guide further actions, with Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara stressing the importance of reviewing the findings before proceeding.
