Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardane has officially resigned from his position, submitting his resignation letter to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
In his letter,Dinesh Gunawardane cited Article 47 (2) of the Constitution of Sri Lanka, following the election of Anura Kumara Dissanayake as the new President during the election held on September 21.

Dinesh Gunawardane congratulated Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his victory, expressing hope that the new president will continue efforts to address the Sri Lanka’s challenges and improve the welfare of its citizens.
